What this policy covers

This policy explains how the native Alef Classifieds app for iPhone and iPad collects, uses, stores, and shares information. It also explains the choices available to you.

Information you choose to provide

Browsing does not require an account. If you post a listing, you provide a title, description, contact method, category, selected community or broad location, and posting duration. This information is used to publish, operate, and moderate the listing. Contact information you include is visible to people browsing the listing.

If you report a listing or contact support, we receive the content of your report or message and the information you choose to include.

Purchases

Paid listing purchases are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s secure hosted checkout. Stripe receives the payment details needed to complete the transaction. Alef Classifieds receives the selected duration, amount, checkout reference, payment status, and receipt information needed to publish the listing and provide support. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Notifications

Notifications are optional. If you grant permission, Apple provides an app-specific device token that we use only to deliver Alef Classifieds notifications. You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Information stored on your device

Saved listing IDs, hidden listing IDs, notification-prompt choices, haptic preferences, cached listings, and an unfinished posting draft may be stored locally so the app remains useful and can recover from an interrupted action. Deleting the app removes this local data.

Location

The app does not request GPS or precise device location. A person posting a listing may select a broad community from a fixed list, and a browser may use that selection to filter the feed.

How we use information

• Publish, display, search, save, and share community listings.
• Verify purchases and fulfill the purchased listing duration.
• Deliver optional notifications.
• Detect prohibited content, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and enforce community rules.
• Provide support, maintain reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers and sharing

We use Stripe for payment processing, Apple Push Notification service for optional notifications, and Supabase for application hosting and database services. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services. When you choose a phone, text, email, share, or web action, iOS sends the information to the system app or destination you selected.

We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across apps or websites. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and deletion

Published listings are retained while active and may be retained afterward for moderation, fraud prevention, support, accounting, or legal purposes. Notification tokens are retained until they are invalid, removed, or no longer needed. To request deletion or correction of information you submitted, email us with enough detail to locate the listing or request.

Security

We use HTTPS, Stripe webhook-signature and payment-status verification, access controls, and other reasonable safeguards. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

Alef Classifieds is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows the latest revision.
